Katherine Maigret, Ph.D.
Clinical Psychologist
Individualized evaluations for children and adolescents by a psychologist with over twenty years of experience
My approach
I use a whole-child approach to understand your child’s social, emotional and academic development. After an in-depth conversation with you about your child’s functioning in all areas of their life, I get to know them in person. I listen and watch carefully with an open mind. This allows me to determine underlying reasons for behaviors and emotions that they are presenting. I combine this with information obtained from multiple sources to develop a comprehensive understanding of your child. Then we meet again and I provide individually-tailored recommendations for you. I also include specific information to help your child’s educators, if requested.
My goal is provide effective strategies to help your child to thrive.
Located in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood

About Dr. Maigret
Since the 1990s I have conducted assessments on children and youth with a broad range of social, educational, emotional, and behavioral concerns, including those with co-occurring medical conditions.
I earned my Ph.D. at the University of California San Diego/San Diego State University Joint Doctoral Program in 1997 and completed my internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Seattle Children’s Hospital in 1999. I received specialized training in working with neurodiverse populations, such as Autistic individuals and those with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I also published research in the areas of neurodiversity, parent-child attachment, social development, and psychological functioning among children with medical conditions.
In my clinical practice, I have worked extensively to support children and adolescents and their families at home and in school and community settings. My experience allows parents to plant seeds for their children’s growth in many areas of their lives. It also enables me to work cooperatively and constructively with school personnel to develop a practical and effective academic plans. I continue to update my practice, including working with an Autistic consultant and reading the latest research, to create the most up-to-date and relevant recommendations.
